Small air purifiers have taken over the market in recent years. The main characteristics of such devices are an affordable price, easy maintenance, and pretty okay performance.
In this article, I will compare the popular Aroeve MK01 and the Blueair Mini Max.
What’s characteristic of the Blueair is its washable pre-filter, minimalistic features, and very low energy consumption.
On the other hand, the Aroeve has some advanced features but has a much lower CADR than the Blueair.
Keep reading to find out which device is better, which performed better in our tests, and which is my absolute recommendation for buying.
Our Verdict
These are two very small air purifiers, ideal for placing on a desk, in a very small bedroom, or in a similar small space.
Neither of these two models has a high CADR or high-quality filtration technology. However, I’m sure that due to their very low price and affordable maintenance, these air purifiers will find their buyers.
If we compare the results of all tests, we can easily conclude that the Blueair Mini Max is a much better choice and a much higher-quality air purifier than the Aroeve MK01.
The Blueair is more affordable to maintain and is characterized by much better build quality, a better-optimized motor, and a washable pre-filter. On top of that, Blueair is a much more reliable brand than Aroeve.

Performance Test – Comparison
The first thing I want to highlight before diving into the detailed performance tests of these two devices is that the Blueair Mini Max has a CADR of 60 CFM (102 m³/h), while the Aroeve MK01 has a CADR of 30 CFM (51 m³/h).
Despite this significant difference in CADR values, we tested both devices in two rooms of the same dimensions.
In the first test, in a room of 120 sq. ft. (11 m²), the Blueair Mini Max reduced the PM2.5 particulate matter from 104.9 to 8.9 µg/m³, which is an overall air quality improvement of about 92%. On the other hand, the Aroeve MK01, in a room of identical dimensions and under the same conditions, improved the air quality by about 86%.
Particle Removal Tests - Comparison
We placed the Blueair Mini Max Vs Aroeve MK01 in two separate tests and measured their performance using the Temtop laser particle meter.
In the second test, this time in a slightly larger room of 194 sq. ft. (18 m²), the Blueair Mini Max improved the air quality by about 89%, while the Aroeve MK01 improved it by about 82%.
Both devices were running at maximum speed throughout the tests, which lasted 60 minutes, and the air quality measurements were taken using a Temptop laser particle meter.
All in all, the Blueair Mini Max delivered far better results and is the clear winner in the performance test.
Noise Level Test – Comparison
When it comes to the noise levels of these two devices, the situation is quite similar, with the Aroeve being slightly quieter at maximum speed, which is expected given that it has a much lower CADR.
At the lowest speed, the sound level produced by these two models is almost identical. The Blueair Mini Max produces a sound level of 40.4 dBA, while the Aroeve MK01 produces a sound level of 40.9 dBA.

At maximum speed, the situation is somewhat different. The Aroeve produces a sound level of 57.9 dBA, while the Blueair also produces a sound level of 57.9 dBA.

Based on these results, we can easily conclude that, although both devices are exceptionally quiet during operation, the Aroeve is slightly quieter and has a slightly better-optimized motor for noise.
Operating Costs – Comparison
Air purifiers are generally not large consumers of electricity, especially small ones like these two.
The Blueair Mini Max uses a motor with just 10W of power, while the Aroeve is equipped with a 17W motor. You’ll agree that neither of these models is a big energy consumer.
If you were to leave these two devices running at maximum speed 24 hours a day for a month, your electricity bill would increase by about $1.36 in the case of the Aroeve air purifier, and by about $0.68 in the case of the Blueair air purifier.
Monthly Power Consumption Cost - Comparison

The price of replacement filters in this case won’t make a big difference because the Blueair is much better optimized, consumes much less electricity, and has a significantly higher CADR.

All of this is enough to conclude that the Blueair Mini Max is much more affordable to maintain annually compared to the Aroeve MK01.
