As far as I know, that’s the warning many (if not all) electronic devices sold in California need to include on the packaging.

I just logged onto staples to compare prices; the nice thing after my search, was knowing staples carries the Levoit core 300s. However was alarmed to see it came with a Prop 65 warning. “⚠ WARNING: California Proposition 65 Warning. This product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to http://www.P65Warnings.ca.gov“.

Does this mean that while, VOCs and smoke may be filtered through the purifier, the air circulated through the purifier is expelling lead?

I would go with the Winix 5500-2, especially if planned to use it in a room larger than, let’s say, 200 sq. ft.

I haven’t compared these two specific models yet, but I have compared the Winix 5500-2 alongside the predecessor of this Levoit model, the Core 300. You can check out the comparison here.

I don’t prefer using features like PlasmaPro and usually keep similar ones turned off, except when testing devices. The good thing is that you never have to turn it on if you don’t want to.

I’m still testing the Levoit Vital 100S, but I don’t have a clear picture of which one would be a better buying option yet. I will write a detailed comparison of these two once I review the Vital 100S.
